The Hair Academy stresses the commitment in excellence in hairdressing training. It is operated and owned by hairdressers who have been successful in the industry. Our Tutors, who are winners of numerous awards, have been helping young people to become hairdressers and been providing salons with exceptionally trained staff since 1987 and are at the fore front of this exciting career.

Employers are one of the most important people in the training programme. The Hair Academy South West will help to take the stress and strain out of training your staff and help you turn them into high flyers.

Training the managers and senior stylists of tomorrow can be very time consuming and expensive, but there is another option that is both cost effective and structured and allows you to develop a young person.

The young person, known as the apprentice, will be employed by your company and develop towards a position of responsibility. At the same time they will be working towards their NVQ Level 2 and/or Level 3 qualifications, in addition to learning personal and key skills.

We are currently looking for employers who would be interested in offering work based apprenticeships to young people, but we will also help you find the right trainee for your salon.

One of our training co-ordinators will visit you and your trainee to review there progress on a regular basis and will be happy to answer any queries you may have. These visits will always be by appointment and a vital link between the salon and the Academy. You will also be updated on your trainee's progress throughout the programme.

The Academy will supply live models for trainees to work on which will be evaluated by our assessors in the Academy. This will take the pressure of supplying models away from the employer, although our assessors will be only too pleased to visit your salon for assessing by appointment if necessary.
