WHAT CAN YOU DO?

At the Hair Academy you can go as far as your talent will take you. You will receive top quality training which will give you valuable National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) working closely with City & Guilds. NVQ's cover every aspect of hairdressing including cutting, styling, fashion, colouring, highlighting and perming techniques.

The Hair Academy South West offers you a creative hairdressing career that is financially secure with opportunities to work as hairdressers both in the UK and Internationally.

You will be training in a commercially run salon, equipped with the latest hairdressing tools and teaching techniques which allows for real hands-on practical skills to maximize your job placement opportunities in the field of hairdressing.

Our specialist Academy and award winning tutors are dedicated uniquely to hairdressing in this exciting fashionable profession. Our tutors have years of hairdressing experience, all still enjoying working as hairdressers in leading salons.

WHAT CAN YOU DO AFTER?

After obtaining NVQ level 2 and/or 3 at the Hair Academy South West you are qualified as a hairdresser to a high level of knowledge, understanding and practical ability.

You will find the world of hairdressing opening up before you. Job opportunities are endless from working in a great salon in your own town to working abroad on cruise ships. You could also find yourself lecturing or tutoring in a salon or Academy. You can become a hairdresser for photographic shoots for magazines or opportunities to work in television, stage or the film industry.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU NEED?

You don't need any qualifications to start the Hair Academy. But you do need enthusiasm, passion, dedication and the desire to learn and fulfil this dream.

WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW?

You will attend the Academy part-time or full-time, whatever suits you best with a minimum of one day a week. On average a course lasts one year depending on how many days you attend.

The Academy is open from Monday to Thursday and is also open on a Thursday evening.

Barbering and NVQ Level 2 courses also available.
